Hello everyone.
Its a wet and cold day here in Melbourne. We were sweltering earlier in the week with 36 degrees and today, well, it's hailing and about 13 degrees as I type. Crazy.
Anyway, quilt shows for this weekend are limited to the AUSTRALIAN QUILTERS ASOCIATION INC EVENT: AQUIP - "Water, Warp and Weft" which is still running:
When: November 14th -December 21st
Where: Whitehorse Art Space, Whitehorse Road, Box Hill
There's only 20 sleeps til Christmas day so if you haven't already done so, it's time to get into gear for present shopping (and even making??) as well as thinking about all that glorious Christmas food!

Out and about
Hello everyone!
It's Thursday again, and this week I'm onto it!
This upcoming weekend sees the following quilt show being held in Ivanhoe:
PATCHWORKERS and QUILTERS GUILD OF VICTORIA INC EXHIBITION
When: 30th November-10am-5pm; 1st December 10am-4pm.
Where: Ivalda Masonic Centre, 40 Salisbury Avenue, Ivanhoe.
Refreshments and shopping available.
Also, the AUSTRALIAN QUILTERS ASSOCIATION INC EVENT: AQUIP - "Water, Warp and Weft" is still running:

Where: Whitehorse Art Space, Whitehorse Road, Box Hill.

Another important event to let you know about is a very special one being held this Saturday, and it's very close to The Patchwork Gallery Quilt Group's heart: Black Saturday - The Tree Project. The completed Tree will be unveiled this Saturday from 1pm - 4pm at the Whittlesea Showgrounds. Click on the link above for more details. Our quilt group has a leaf on the tree in memory of all that was lost in those devastating fires in 2009.
Whatever you get up to this weekend, enjoy it!

The BALLAARAT QUILTERS BIENNIAL EXHIBITION 2013When: 2nd & 3rd November, 10am - 4pm
Where: Ballarat Mining Exchange, 12 Lydiard Street North, Ballarat
Entry: $6.00
Over 100 quilts on display - traditional & modern; light refreshments available and trade stalls

Out and about
Hello everyone.
Are you keen to get out and about and take in some quilting inspiration? If so, there are a few quilt shows being held around the State:
Goldfield Quilters Quilt In
When: 19th October; 10am - 4pm
Where: Campbell's Creek Community Centre, Elizabeth Street, Campbell's Creek
Guest Speaker: Linda Steele
Morning and afternoon teas will be provided. Soup will be available for $2.00 per mug at lunch time. BYO lunch and mug.
There will be a raffle of a quilt made by one of the group's members and lucky door prizes
Eastern Palliative Care Quilt Show - 'Quilts Loved and Used'
When: 18th - 19th October; 10am - 4.30pm
Where: Nunawading Uniting Church, 361 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading
Entry: $5.00
Refreshments and shopping opportunities as well as beautiful quilts.
An Evening with Dr Annette Gero
Dr Annette Gero will speak about "The Soul of Old Quilts in Women's Lives". Slide presentation and quilts are included.
When: Friday 18th October; 7.30pm
Where: Nunawading Uniting Church, 361 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading
Entry: $25.00. Tickets are available from Eastern Palliative Care. Entry includes refreshment, a light supper and an opportunity to view the exhibition. Booking strongly recommended.
