**SLIPSTITCH - CONTEMPORARY EMBROIDERY - ARARAT**
When: Until 17 May 2015. Mon to Fri 10am - 4.30pm; Sat, Sun & Public Hols 12-4pm
Where: Vincent St, Ararat
What: 'Slipstitch' is an Ararat Regional Art Gallery and NETS Victoria touring exhibition which presents an Australian perspective on the contemporary uptake of embroidery by a new generation of artists and considers how the unique attributes of the medium of embroidery are employed as a vehicle for artists exploring personal narratives. **A GOLDEN AGE OF CHINA EXHIBITION - NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA, MELBOURNE**
When:  until 21 June 2015
Where:  NGV, St Kilda Rd, Melbourne
What:  Qianlong Emperor, 1736–1795 tells the story of China’s foremost art collector Qianlong emperor, one of China’s most successful rulers and fourth emperor of the Qing dynasty (1644–1911).  Ticketed entry - see NGV website for further details


**EXQUISITE THREADS - ENGLISH EMBROIDERY 1600s–1900s - NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA, MELBOURNE**
When:  Until 12 July 2015
Where:  NGV, St Kilda Rd, Melbourne
What:  Exquisite Threads displays nearly sixty works through the themes of education, fashion and the home each representing important aspects of embroidery’s role within English life. Free entry.  See NGV website for further details.


**CREATIVE ARTS EXHIBITION: CWA MORNINGTON PENINSULA GROUP - MORNINGTON**
When:  11 April - 10am-4pm; 12 April 2015 - 10am-3pm
Where:  Peninsula Community Theatre, 91 Wilsons Rd (cnr Nepean Hwy), Mornington .
What:  Display of handicrafts: Knitting, Crochet, Embroidery, Cookery, Patchwork and Quilting, Floral Art, Painting & Photography. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea available.  $5.00 entry.


** GIPPSLAND HILLS GROUP CWA - HANDICRAFTS, ART AND HOME INDUSTRIES EXHIBITION - **
When:  Friday 10 Apr - 10.00am-4.30pm; Sat 11 Apr - 10.00am-3.30pm
Where:  Meeniyan Hall, Whitelaw St, Meeniyan
What:  Celebrating the 61st annual exhibition of handicrafts, art and home industries. Admire traditional and modern crafts, cookery and preserves, art and photography, floral art and horticulture. Craftspeople at work and you can try out a new craft. Light lunches, morning and afternoon teas.  Adults $3. Children and school students free.
